Adenose

Another pathologic entity which may present a growth toward the inside of the galactophorous duct is the adenose growth associated with chronic cystic mastopathia. It represents a type of epithelial intracanalicular hyperplasia that may occur in a woman from 30 to 40 years of age.

As the papilloma ages, there is an increase in stromal fibroses and clods of calcium deposit as well as scleroses with adenose epithelial patterns at the stalk. These formations give the false impression of invasive carcinoma (pseudoinfiltration).

The U.S. studies ignored the different kinds of cell types in lung cancer (epidermoid, adenose, and small cell and large cell) that would be associated with secondhand smoke if it causes cancer.
