Blackette

It’s a sure thing you won’t find a sunnier, cheerier color. And it is beautiful for blondes or brunettes or blackettes—even redheads.

“O Judy!” the fair-haired Miss exclaimed, “Your black hair looks lovely!” and “O Madeline!” the raven-tressed one replied, “You’re a beautiful blond!” And sure enough Judy is and Madeline is. Brown-haired Miss Stell, attending school at Denton, is the blackette, and black-haired Miss Finch, a cosmetologist at Norman, is the blond.

The list [of sexiest women] has also caused consternation because only three of the top 10 are blonde, and only one, Caprice, might be regarded as dizzy. The other two, Joanna Lumley and Gwyneth Paltrow, are very definitely serious blondes. The top three are long-haired brunettes, blackettes actually, with brunette Liz Hurley trotting along in Gucci mules at number four.

She's a great strong female role model, and she's rather nice looking to boot. Well, I always love blackettes (I use this to distinguish women with black hair :o)

Maybe it's because I suspect that one reason a blonde was cast instead of the original brunette (blackette?) was to point out to the audience "Look! This is the heroine!"... I could be wrong, of course.
