Ironmaster

A contract has just been made by several of our large ironmasters for 8000 tons of iron for the great Menai Straits Bridge, in connection with the Chester and Holyhead Railway.

Thirdly, it incorporated Samuel Homfray, Richard Fothergill, Matthew Monkhouse, William Thompson, and William Forman, ironmasters, (described in the Act as intended lessees of the Tredegar Iron Works) as the Sirhowy Tramroad Company, with powers to make, at their own expense, the portion of the proposed tramroad from Sirhowy Furnaces to Nine Mile Point;
