What would be a lovely bank of white and pink roses just north of Mallett's are so laden with dust from the grist-mill road that the white roses look a rusty yellow, pink ones a jeansy brown.

And, also on State Street, Off Limits, specializing in inexpensive, jeansy clothes opened in the space over Jason’s Sandwich and Ice Cream Cafe.
