Sedimentitious

The urine is often sedimentitious; sometimes the deposit is crystalline, but more frequently mucous; this, however, depends upon the action of the salts contained in the water upon substances met with in the bladder.

Nearly all the causes which have been mentioned, accidental and natural, appear to have operated in producing the present condition of its bed—the bends and elbows in the channel, where not before alluded to, had their share in effecting a retardation of velocity, and in furnishing a superabundance of sedimentitious matter; and the construction of a mill-dam (which, for all that is known, may have done a greater amount of good than evil,) has contributed an acceleration to the agencies at work.
